Media Relations Analysis and Plan
Class Project: Conservative Leadership Candidate Michael Chong
This piece was created as a final assignment in my second-year media relations course. Here I quantitatively analyzed the media coverage generated by the Conservative leadership race in order to determine how my client, Michael Chong, is being portrayed against his competitors. My analysis concluded that while Chong received media mentions, they typically were not very detail - typically a short mention in an article about more controversial candidates. I made strategic recommendations in order to increase the saturation of the news coverage he was receiving, which largely focused on switching tactics from promoting messages of conflict to focusing on messages with impact.

The event being reported on was a partnership with campus Conservative associations in key cities needed to win the Conservative Leadership Bid.
